How the system works
A timed monitoring and alerting process that does not depend on somebody remembering to make the next call.
From check-in to automatic response
Lookout Call is an automated alternative to the traditional buddy system.
Start a session
Call Lookout Call, record where you are going or what you are doing, and set a time for your next check-in.
→Work independently
Continue your task or journey, updating the system if you need more time.
→Safety check
If the countdown expires, Lookout Call automatically contacts the worker and requests confirmation using a PIN.
→Raise the alert
If safety cannot be confirmed, nominated responders or a monitoring centre are notified so they can act.
Workers cannot be overlooked simply because a phone goes unanswered
When a countdown expires, the automated service initiates its checking and escalation process. This does not require a buddy to notice that an agreed deadline has passed.
If the worker has switched their mobile off, lost coverage or can no longer use it, the monitoring countdown remains active on the service platform.
A worker can also raise an emergency alarm immediately or request an additional check call during a task.
- Voice-recognition or speed-dial operation from standard phones
- Spoken location information available to responders
- Automatic alert notifications to pre-nominated colleagues
- Monitoring and alarm reporting with an audit trail
- Optional emergency conferencing and live monitoring capabilities
Three ways to raise a safety alert
Countdown alarm
The countdown runs centrally. If it expires without a successful confirmation, the system follows the agreed escalation process.
Emergency alarm
Workers can signal for urgent help without waiting for a countdown to reach its end.
Call-back alarm
A safety call can be arranged during an activity. A failed confirmation can initiate an urgent response.
Managed, monitored and supported
Organisation administrators can review usage, manage their workers and see information about alarms through an online interface. C3 supports customers with configuration, training and ongoing service.
Because Lookout Call works with familiar phones, it can be introduced without the logistical challenges of purchasing and issuing dedicated devices.
Arrangements to match your organisation
Whether you are a charity protecting volunteers or an employer with a large mobile workforce, the Lookout Call team can advise on configuration, responders, licences and support.
