Mind in Cambridgeshire is a dynamic county-wide charity that supports local people in their recovery from mental health issues. As well as offering active support, the charity is also committed to raising awareness around mental well-being and tackling the stigma of mental health.
Mind in Cambridgeshire provides a home support service for people recovering from a wide range of mental health difficulties. The Support 2 Recovery Service (S2R) is available seven days a week and delivered by a team of highly trained, specialist support workers.
To ensure the safety of their support staff Mind in Cambridgeshire initially implemented a call-log system, whereby home visitors would check in/out of appointments by calling their manager. However, the merger of Cam Mind and Huntingdon Mind meant more lone workers and the need for an automated system.
“We were having lone workers calling in and out using our office number and duty managers were taking the calls out of hours and weekends,” explains Sally Keown, Core Services Manager at Mind in Cambridgeshire. “But this duty was putting a lot of pressure on just two managers. We needed an automated lone working log in system and Lookout Call provided what we wanted, at the best price.”
The charity considered a number of lone worker safety systems but decided on Lookout Call because the system was simple to use and offered the best value for money.
“We’ve had good feedback from the staff who find Lookout Call easy to use and the service we have received from Lookout Call has been excellent.”
